What are the operating hours?

Banff National Park offers four major Gondola sightseeing lift experiences, each providing a unique way to experience the Canadian Rockies.

Mount Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift

What are the operating hours?

The Mount Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift operates on a seasonal schedule, with hours that change slightly as the season progresses.

During the main summer season (typically from June through early September), the chairlift generally operates daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the last ride down at 7:30 p.m.

During the fall season (typically mid-September through early October), the hours are usually 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the last ride down at 6:30 p.m.

The longer summer hours give visitors plenty of flexibility to plan their visit. Early mornings are ideal for cooler temperatures, crisp mountain air, and excellent visibility, while late afternoons and evenings offer beautiful golden light across the Bow Valley and surrounding peaks. Many visitors choose to arrive a few hours before closing so they have enough time to enjoy the chairlift ride, explore the viewpoints, and relax at the historic Cliffhouse Bistro before making the return trip.

Because operating hours may occasionally change due to weather, maintenance, or special events, it's always a good idea to confirm the schedule before your visit, especially if you're travelling early or late in the operating season. Book the Mt. Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift
