What are the operating hours?

The Banff Gondola is open year-round, but its operating hours change throughout the year to match the seasons. Summer features the longest days and latest closing times, while spring, fall, and winter have different schedules.

During the peak summer season, the gondola typically operates daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with the last ride to the summit at 8:30 PM. These extended hours allow visitors to enjoy daytime sightseeing, dinner with mountain views, or an evening visit as the sun sets over the Rockies.

In early autumn, operating hours generally shift to 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, while later in the fall they change to 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Following the annual maintenance period, winter operations usually run from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with the last ascent at 8:30 PM.

The final ride down from the summit typically departs about 10 minutes before closing, so visitors should allow enough time to return to the upper terminal before the attraction closes for the day.

Because operating hours can occasionally change due to weather, seasonal events, or scheduled maintenance, it's always a good idea to check the latest schedule before your visit. Book Banff Gondola Ride Admission
