Is the boardwalk wheelchair accessible?

The Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk is partially wheelchair accessible, but not the entire route.

The Banff Gondola summit building, main observation decks, restaurants, interpretive exhibits, gift shop, and many of the primary viewing areas are wheelchair accessible. Visitors using wheelchairs can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Banff, the Bow Valley, and the surrounding mountain ranges directly from these accessible platforms.

The boardwalk itself begins as a relatively smooth wooden pathway, allowing access to some of the ridge-top viewpoints. However, the full walk to Sanson's Peak is not wheelchair accessible because the final section includes a long staircase leading to the historic weather station.

Even without reaching Sanson's Peak, visitors can still experience outstanding scenery from the accessible portions of the summit area. The main observation decks provide many of the same iconic views, including Banff town, Mount Rundle, Cascade Mountain, the Bow Valley, and Vermilion Lakes.
