Is photography allowed?

Banff National Park offers four major Gondola sightseeing lift experiences, each providing a unique way to experience the Canadian Rockies.

Mount Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift

Is photography allowed?

Yes. Photography is encouraged at the Mt. Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift and is one of the highlights of the experience. The open-air chairlift offers unobstructed views in every direction, allowing you to capture panoramic mountain landscapes, the Bow Valley, and the Town of Banff throughout the ride.

At the top, you'll find several excellent viewpoints where you can take photos of Mount Rundle, Cascade Mountain, surrounding peaks, and the sweeping valleys below. The Cliffhouse Bistro and nearby viewing areas also provide beautiful backdrops for landscape and family photos.

You are welcome to use smartphones, cameras, and action cameras for personal photography. Because the chairlift is open, it's a good idea to keep your camera or phone securely attached with a wrist strap or neck strap to prevent it from being dropped during the ride.

Commercial photography or professional filming may require advance permission or permits, but visitors taking photos for personal enjoyment can freely photograph the scenery throughout their visit. Book the Mt. Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift
