Is parking free?

Banff National Park offers four major Gondola sightseeing lift experiences, each providing a unique way to experience the Canadian Rockies.

Mount Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift

Is parking free?

Yes. Parking at the Mount Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift is free for visitors.

The resort has a large parking area located directly beside the base lodge and chairlift, making it easy to park and walk a short distance to the ticket office and boarding area. There are no daily parking fees or permits required for guests visiting the sightseeing chairlift during the summer season.

The parking lot is suitable for most passenger vehicles, SUVs, and pickup trucks, and there is generally plenty of space available. Even during the busiest summer weekends, the lot is usually less congested than parking areas at many of Banff National Park's other popular attractions.

Because Mount Norquay is only about a 10- to 15-minute drive from downtown Banff, driving is the most convenient way to reach the resort. The mountain road is fully paved and well maintained, offering a scenic drive through the forest before arriving at the base area.

If you're visiting during a particularly busy holiday or peak summer weekend, arriving earlier in the day can provide the widest choice of parking spaces and a more relaxed start to your visit. Once parked, you'll have easy access to the chairlift, base facilities, and other summer activities without needing to use a shuttle or walk long distances. Book the Mt. Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift
