Can I ride only the Standish Chairlift?

No. You cannot ride only the Standish Chairlift. The chairlift is located high in the alpine at Sunshine Village and can only be reached after travelling up the Sunshine Village Sightseeing Gondola from the base area.

The sightseeing experience is designed as a two-stage journey. First, visitors ride the gondola from the parking area to Sunshine Village. Once at the village, they can board the Standish Chairlift to climb higher up Mount Standish. Since there is no road or public vehicle access to the chairlift itself, the gondola is the only practical way to reach it.

If your goal is simply to experience the open-air chairlift and its spectacular views, you'll still need to take the gondola first. Many visitors make a full day of the experience by riding both lifts, visiting the Standish Viewing Deck, walking through Sunshine Meadows, and enjoying the mountain restaurants and scenic trails before returning by gondola.
